A few years ago, the term “project-based onsite services” wasn’t widely recognized in the recruitment market in China. However, in recent years, with changes in the overall economic environment, both companies and job seekers have become more familiar with this type of service. It helps companies reduce labor costs and risks while also easing the talent load in the market.

Recently, we came across an IT candidate who, after being laid off during the pandemic, applied for several roles and ultimately chose a project-based onsite job. However, upon further engagement, we found that the employer’s recruitment and on-boarding process was very rushed. The interview was conducted via video, the contract was signed online, and there was no training before the candidate was sent directly to work onsite at the client’s company. As a result, the candidate quickly began exploring new market opportunities after joining.

This case serves as a reminder to our peers in the industry—recruitment is never easy, and finding the right talent is even more challenging.Adding a few more rounds of interviews might lengthen the process, but it benefits mutual understanding, builds trust, enhances employee stability after on-boarding, and improves client satisfaction.Employee care and talent management plans post-hire are also crucial.

On the other hand, I would like to offer some advice to job seekers: flexible and diverse working arrangements are definitely the future trend. Adapting to change and seizing the right opportunities will lead to smooth success.
